Strawberry, vanilla, caramel, coffee, lemon, peach all are flavors that come in the line up before chocolate for me. However, Mr. Right has been occasionally making me a cup of hot chocolate as a little something sweet now and then. We stuck four metallic stars on page 214 of the Happy Herbivore Abroad cookbook. That is how good it is. So worth your time to make, better yet, get your better half to make it for you. Tastes even better when someone else makes it for you, ha.
1 cup almond milk, 1 Tablespoon agave nectar, 1 Tablespoon unsweetened cocoa (we use Frye’s Cocoa that J.J.J. send us from Vermont, thanks go out every time we use some), 1 teaspoon vegan chocolate chips, a pinch of ground cinnamon and a pinch of ground espresso. Put chocolate chips in the food processor and whiz around until finely chopped. Then combine almond milk, agave, cocoa, a pinch of cinnamon and a pinch of ground espresso. WHIZ until smooth. Gently heat over low in a pan on the stove top. Pour into a heated mug.
Say Grace and wait for it…………the aroma is heavenly and rich……..take that first little sip to test for temperature and taste……..oh my goodness, pure sweetness swirls in the steam and you can only think of how wonderful this moment in time really is…………wrap your hands around the mug for warmth and comfort. Smooch your Mr. Right as your way of saying thank you. Slowly savor and finish your treat-OH- goodness.
